Sarmatian tradition of creating coffin portrait of the seventeenth and eighteenth left numerous collec- tions in Poland. Designed exhibition aims to bring the phenomenon in the form of exhibition in the National Museum in Poznań. The project is a con- temporary interpretation of Castrum Doloris (from Lat. Castle of pain). Portraits are placed on the ex- terior walls of exposure, whereas at a central loca- tion, on a platform, is a coffin with a picture of the deceased highlighting the primary place of portrait.
